To determine the life quality of women in climacterium period
Abstract
Assessing the quality life of women via short-form 36 (SF-36), and determining the factors affecting same were the aims of this study.
The study was a cross-sectional and descriptive study which was conducted on 300 women who were attending Izmir, Odemis Primary Health Care Center Number 2. The research was carried out between the dates in 15-10-2005/ 15-01-2006. Short Form 36 (SF-36) and interview from about the demographic and climacteric features of women are used as means of data gathering. İn the evaluation of data single direction ANOVA, Student T Test and Mann Whitney U Test is applied.
The mean age of respondents was 55.23±6.94. After the study, it was found that 42% of women are between the years 40-45, 65.7% of them have the education of the primary school and 71.4% of them equal to their out comes. When it comes to their pregnancy stories, it was discovered that 89% of them had pregnancy one or three times and 84% of them have one or three children. The quality of life scores were negatively influenced by advanced age, lower educational level (p< 0.05).And also, any meaningful relationship wasn't found between income level and getting treatmet about menapouse (p>0.05).
We could say that the menopause symptoms affected the women's health and quality of life, negatively.
